Top 5 New Core Features in Autodesk Revit 2025

The Revit design process has been made easier by the addition of numerous new features and enhancements by the Autodesk development team. Autodesk Revit 2025 has been released with some remarkable upgrades and functionalities. Although there are several impressive enhancements to discover, a few key features that captured my attention are outlined below. Rest assured, there are many more remarkable upgrades waiting to be explored.

Favorite Feature #1: Align Text, Tags, and Keynotes
You can now modify all text notes in a view so that they all align either left, right, top, bottom, middle, or center justified within the text note bounding box, as well as distributing the text notes horizontally or vertically between all the text. These tools are also available for aligning tags and keynotes.

Favorite Feature #2: Excavate on Toposolid
You can now utilize a floor, a roof, another toposolid, or a building pad element to excavate (cutter elements) or fill from a toposolid (cuttee toposolid). This will help with the missing building pad we all dealt with in 2024.

Favorite Feature #3: Excavation Volume Parameter
The cutter element that was used to excavate the toposolid now displays the Excavation Volume on Toposolid in Properties.

You can select the main toposolid (cuttee) and view the Excavation Volume on Toposolid. All cutter elements on the selected toposolid will display in the list.

You are also able to add the Excavation Volume on Toposolid and Total Excavation Volume parameters into a schedule.

Favorite Feature #4: Duplicate Sheet Numbers
If you have ever needed multiple packages to be issued in a project where the same sheet numbers are needed across the packages, you can now create or duplicate a sheet with the same sheet number. Before you let your head spin on this new feature, Revit will not automatically start creating duplicate sheet numbers as the default sheet creation behavior has not been changed.

Favorite Feature #5: Keep Views in Design Option Modification
After you accept a primary design option, you now have the ability to select which views you want to delete. By default, all views are unchecked. Previously, the views were checked and grayed out, so you didn’t have the option to uncheck them so they weren’t deleted.

What are your favorite features of the software? We’d love to hear your feedback!
