When you download Revit from your Autodesk Account, you'll automatically receive the most current version. However, if you find that you need an older version after installing the latest one, you'll have to uninstall Revit entirely, as the software doesn’t support removing updates individually.
In this article, I'll direct you to the process of uninstalling Revit and walk you through the steps needed to reinstall the desired version correctly.
Uninstall the Current Revit Version
First, uninstall the version you don’t want. To accomplish this successfully, follow the steps here: How to Uninstall Revit Products.
Download the Desired Revit Version
Once you have the Revit product uninstalled, you can use the following steps to download the right version for your needs.
-
Sign in to your Autodesk Account.
-
From the Products and Services tab, click All Products and Services and search for Revit.
-
Click View Details. If you click Install, you will automatically get the most current version (which at the time of writing is 2027.1).
-
Make sure you do the following:
-
Select the 2027 tab.
-
Select the Windows system.
-
Select the language.
-
Click the link next to Installs latest version.
-
In the dialog box that opens, select 2027 to change which version will be installed or downloaded.
-
I always recommend expanding the menu next to Install and selecting one of the Download options. Learn more about the Autodesk download methods.
When you are ready to install the Revit update, you can do so by downloading it from your Autodesk Account site or from Autodesk Access.
By selecting the desired version before downloading, you can ensure Revit is installed at the correct release level for your project or company requirements.
